Apple Roll out Beta 3 update of iOS 10.2,macOS 10.12.2 and tvOS 10.1,Video App Removed! UPDATE

Info! The new TV app replaces the old Video application in iOS

Today, November 14, 2016, Apple seeded the third Beta versions of its upcoming iOS 10.2, macOS Sierra 10.12.2, and tvOS 10.1 operating systems to developers enrolled in the Apple Developer program, along with the second Beta of Xcode 8.2 IDE.

The Beta 3 development builds are here exactly one week after the release of the second Betas of the iOS 10.2 for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch devices, and tvOS 10.1 for Apple TV (4th generation) devices, and six days after the Beta 2 announcement for the macOS 10.12.2 Sierra operating system for supported MacBook and iMac computers.

Also today, Apple seeded the second Beta release of the Xcode 8.2 IDE (Integrated Development Environment) application, which appears to include the SDKs (Software Development Kits) for the newest iOS 10.2, macOS 10.12.2, tvOS 10.1, and watchOS 3.1.1 Betas. Developers should be aware that Xcode 8.2 Beta requires Mac OS X 10.11.5 or later.

Old Videos app finally removed from iOS

As for the new features and changes, we can mention that starting with today's iOS 10.2 Beta 3 build, Apple removes the old Videos app that no one used, which was replaced by the new TV app unveiled during the "Hello again" event last month. However, as we reported last week, the new TV app won't work for all users in all regions.

There are also various other improvements to the new SOS functionality, a new "Send With Love" effect for the Messages app, and lots of bug fixes. As usual, the third Public Beta builds of iOS 10.2, tvOS 10.1, and macOS 10.12.2 Sierra should be seeded to public beta testers in the next few hours or so.

Until the iOS 10.2 Beta 3 and macOS 10.12.2 Beta 3 versions arrive for public testing, you can read our "Here's How to Install iOS 10 Public Beta on Your iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch" and "Here's How to Install macOS Sierra 10.12 Public Beta on Your Mac Right Now" if you want to install them.

Update: It appears that the Public Beta 3 release of the iOS 10.2 mobile operating system is already avaiable for download. You can install it right now using the tutorial above, or just update from the Beta 2 version. The Beta 3 of macOS 10.12.2 Sierra should be here as well.
